Our Mission 

 

We are working to mitigate the effects of climate change and create a greener, more bio-diverse and sustainable local environment.

As individuals we can do quite a lot, but by working together in community we have the combined energy and wisdom to make a far greater difference – and have some fun too.

Re-Betchworth is a network, and like every local climate and ecology action network, we work hard to build connections. 

• Connections with and between those Betchworth residents motivated to make more space for nature, to make lifestyle choices which will reduce our impact on the planet, to build a resilient local economy and more. Working together in community is a lot more fun than working alone! 
• Connections with our natural environment, at local and global level.
• Connections with our Parish Council, the Betchworth and Buckland Society, Surrey Wildlife Trust and other local organisations. 
• Connections with neighbouring villages on a similar path to sustainability, and to District and County Councils so we fit in with and help them achieve their Net Zero goals.

On this website you’ll find information, advice and links to resources to help you understand more about biodiversity and sustainable living, to help guide your personal review of those REs and more. You’ll:

• understand the threats our children and grandchildren face, and their causes
• appreciate why most of the remedial action needed will fall on us as individuals and households
• think through the immediate actions you can take, and some longer-term ones too.

Of course, any Google search will provide you with a million links to other, more detailed websites that can help your review.  We’ve borrowed from many of them to build this summary site and provide links to others.
