See what can be done for biodiversity by working with nature, rather than against it.

If you’ve ever thought about, or are in the process of re-wilding a section of your garden, this trip is a 'must' for you. Join us on a Re-Betchworth group visit to the Rewilded Walled Garden at the Knepp Estate, nine miles south of Horsham. Knepp is home to the trailblazing 3,500-acre rewilding project that has changed the way people think about nature and how we can heal our planet.

Their Walled Garden is a unique horticultural experiment inspired by what they’ve learnt from rewilding in the wider landscape. The project, planted in 2021 and featuring over 1,000 species of plants, aims to both maximise biodiversity and be as sustainable as possible.

Walled garden tours are led by the head gardener or one of the deputies and cover both the design of the garden and practical aspects of managing it. Re-betchworth has organised this group visit (at very reasonable rates) for what will be an inspiring guided visit on Monday 17 June – the height of the wildflower season.

Knepp walled garden re-sized

Refreshments will be waiting for us on arrival at 10.00, followed by a talk, then a two hour guided tour of the walled garden as well as the adjacent wildflower meadows. Afterwards, you can have lunch in Knepp’s wilding kitchen if you would like to and then venture out for a walk in the wider estate at your leisure.

There are just 20 places available for this visit, at a dicounted rate of £30 per person, which includes the welcome refreshments and access to the whole estate. Travel to Knepp, nine miles south of Horsham, is not included but we are happy to facilitate car-sharing. We'll also book lunch for those who would like a group table.  Please book using the form below.
